Day 2 - Getting low

I hadn't intended to do back to back black and whites but this just sorta happened.

I made an 8 hour round trip drive today and thought the tires deserved some credit. This is back in my driveway after spending a fair amount of time in the driver's seat.

I shot this bracketed in aperture priority mode (f22). I then merged the exposures in photoshop. I converted to black and white after switching from 32 to 8 bit.

I like the little bit of flare coming off of the chrome, and the dirt on the rim seems to tell the story of the journey (not the longest trip we've made, but one of the more difficult considering rain, traffic, and construction).

The HDR may not have been absolutely necessary, but it was still fun to play with it a bit.
